KATHARINA EDER

I have been in touch with yoga since my childhood. My ballet teacher used it for our warmup exercises. Later I started sport climbing and also made use of a lot of stretching exercises, which also have their origins in yoga, in order to stay flexible. When practising dancing and during my studies of Business Education, yoga has unknowingly been my companion and became a more and more important part of my life.

Once I started attending yoga lessons, I finally discovered my love and passion for it.

I began with Vinyassa Flows and Acro Yoga. Through practicing yoga I started getting calmer and recognized the healing power of yoga. Thus, I enrolled in yoga teacher training. Afterwards I was trained in Yin-Yoga and specialized in the meaning of the meridians. Now, I practise B.K.S Iyengar Yoga because this very precise kind of yoga fits me best.

This was followed by a year of very intensive training in therapeutic yoga and numerous other workshops on all yoga therapeutic topics. These included, for example, in-depth anatomy, alternatives for pain and restrictions in joint and muscle activity, spiral dynamics, Ayurveda, the latest findings in fascia research, peace food, digestion and abdominal organs, hormones and the immune system, meditation and philosophy as well as dealing with stress and burnout.

For me yoga is a true vocation.

I am grateful for receiving more knowledge and inspiration from my teachers, embrace all new inputs and keep developing my skills based on my university education in pedagogy, coaching and mentoring.

In 2017 I was awarded the Yoga Alliance UK certificate.
